Ginger Blossom Cookies
- 34 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar, firm packed
- 14 cup light molasses
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 14 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 12 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 25 blanched almonds
- Cream shortening and sugar,add molasses and egg,blend well.
- Sift dry ingredients,add to creamed mixture,mix well.
- Roll into balls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter,place 2 1/2 inches apart on greased baking sheet.
- Flatten slightly,press almond in center of each.
- Bake at 350 12-15 minutes.
