2nd Day Cabbage Soup Recipe

  1. In a large Dutch oven, render bacon.
  2. Add in onions and sautee over low heat as there will be very little fat from the lean bacon.
  3. Once the onions are soft and start to get brown, add in minced beef and pork and cook till no longer pink.
  4. Add in potatoes.
  5. Cook for about 10 min turning potatoes several times.
  6. Add in salt, pepper.
  7. Kielbasa, cabbage and apples.
  8. Let simmer for another 10 min, turning often.
  9. Transfer everything to crockpot.
  10. Pour beef broth over everyting then spread cream of mushroom soup proportionately over all, working it slightly into the mix.
  11. Cook on HIGH for 2 1/2 hrs, on LOW for an additional 3 hrs.
  12. Mix thoroughly and check seasoning before serving in soup bowls.
  13. Reheat also in the crockpot.
  14. Two hrs on HIGH 1 hour on LOW.
