The Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich
- 4 Tablespoons Canola Oil, Divided
- 1 whole Large Onion, Sliced
- 1 whole Green Bell Pepper (remove Stem And Seeds) Sliced
- 1/4 teaspoons Each Salt And Black Pepper
- 1 cup Your Favorite Tomato/marinara Sauce
- 2 whole 6" Soft Sub Or Hoagie Roll
- 1 box 8 Ounce Box, Minute Steaks (I Use Steak-ums Brand, Any Will Work)
- 4 slices Provolone Cheese
- You will need two frying pans (10 diameter).
- In one frying pan add half of the canola oil.
- Add sliced onions and peppers and cook on medium heat.
- Add salt and pepper and cook until veggies are tender.
- Add tomato/marinara sauce to mixture, turn heat to a simmer and stir mixture together gently.
- Open up the sub/hoagie rolls and set aside.
- Open box of Minute Steaks and separate the meat from paper liners.
- Add remaining half of the canola oil to a second frying pan, over medium heat.
- Lay Minute Steaks on a cutting board and cut into bite-sized strips or pieces.
- Add pieces into the frying pan.
- This will cook up very quickly so stir frequently while frying.
- Once the meat is nice and browned add onion-pepper sauce into the cooked steaks and stir mixture well and simmer just a few minutes together.
- Add half of the provolone cheese to the bottom of each sub/hoagie roll and place a generous portion of the steak mixture to the top of cheese.
- Dig in, they are messy and delicious!
