Toffee Apple Cake
- 12 cup butter
- 34 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 34 cup sour cream
- 2 cups apples, diced (Granny Smith)
- 12 cup toffee pieces
- 13 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 14 cup butter
- 12 cup toffee pieces
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- CAKE: Cream butter and sugar together.
- Add 1 egg at time mixing well.
- Add vanilla.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix butter and sugar mixture with flour mixture.
- Fold in sour cream, apples, and toffee pieces.
- TOPPING: Mix flour, brown sugar, butter, and toffee pieces.
- Pour cake mixture into a greased and floured 9 by 13 inch pan.
- Place topping on top of batter pressing down slightly.
- Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 min until set.
- Let cool.
