Southern Pulled Pork
- 1 whole (2 1/2 To 3 Lb. Size) Pork Shoulder Or Butt, Trimmed
- 1 cup Ketchup
- 1 cup Sweet Apple Cider
- 1/2 cups Water
- 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 13 cups Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Smoked Paprika
- 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
- 2 Tablespoons Minced Garlic
- 1 Tablespoon Ground Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Hot Pepper Flakes
- 6 whole Buns, For The Sandwiches
- 1 cup Cider Vinegar
- 1/2 cups Ketchup
- 13 cups Soft Brown Sugar
- 3 Tablespoons Mustard Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 1 clove Garlic, Smashed
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne Powder
- 2 pinches Sea Salt And Cracked Pepper
- For the pork: Put pork in a slow cooker.
- In a large bowl, combine all remaining marinade ingredients.
- Pour over the pork, rubbing in.
- Cover and cook on medium for 8 hours.
- When done, shred the meat with a couple of forks.
- Add sauce and mix until well combined.
- Serve with warm buns and your favourite fixings.
- For the sauce: Whisk together all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring often.
- Once smooth, remove from heat and cool until ready.
