Hot Fudge-Peppermint Sundaes

  1. Combine chocolate chips, butter, cream and sugar in heavy medium saucepan.
  2. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in vanilla and salt.
  5. (Can be made 2 weeks ahead.
  6. Cover and chill.
  7. Rewarm before using.)
  8. Place 2 scoops ice cream into each of 6 sundae glasses.
  9. Spoon hot fudge sauce over ice cream.
  10. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies.
