Sausage Stuffing Recipe
- 1 lg. minced onion
- 1 (8 ounce.) pkg. fresh mushrooms
- Butter
- 1 lg. loaf bread
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon poultry season
- 1 can chicken broth
- 1 pkg. sage sausage
- 1 can water chestnuts (opt.)
- Minced celery (opt.)
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoon garlic
- Saute/fry minced onion, mushrooms in 1 stick butter with garlic.
- Oven dry bread, then cut into cubes.
- Brown sausage in pan and drain fat.
- IN large bowl place bread cubes and sausage, pour over butter with onions, etc.
- Sprinkle over rest of spices.
- Pour on chicken broth and mix well.
- If too dry add in more melted butter.
- Stuffs 12 lb.
