Apple Sauce Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Preheat the oven 325F (160C).
  2. In a large bowl with an electric mixer, add butter, canola oil, apple sauce, and brown sugar, beat until smooth.
  3. Beat eggs one at a time, stir in vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, add the flour, baking soda, and salt, and mix well.
  5. Add the flour mixture into the butter-applesauce mixture, stir until just incorporated.
  6. Stir in oats, chocolate chips, and walnuts.
  7. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for about 13 minutes.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.
  10. Transfer the cookies onto wire racks and cool completely.
  11. Store in an air-tight container for up to 1 week.
