Italian Chicken Meatballs
- 1 net 500 grams Ground chicken thigh and/or breast
- 100 grams Lotus root
- 1 Green onions or scallions
- 1 Egg
- 2 tsp Soy sauce
- 1 tsp Sake
- 2 tsp Grated ginger
- 1/4 *Minced onion
- 4 tbsp *Ketchup
- 2 tsp * Pesto genovese (or fresh basil)
- 1 Tabasco (optional)
- Mince the lotus root (but not too finely).
- Chop up the green onions into small pieces.
- Finely mince the onion for the sauce and soak in water.
- Put the ground chicken, lotus root, green onions, and seasonings in a bowl and mix well.
- Make bite-sized balls, heat some oil (not listed) in a frying pan, and fry the meat balls.
- While frying, pat dry the soaked onions with a paper towel.
- Mix with the ingredients to make the sauce.
- Sauce If you don't have pesto, finely chop up some fresh basil or use store-bought basil pesto.
- Or add minced garlic for fragrance.
- Add Tabasco to taste!
- It's great for adults who want that extra punch!
