Amish Shoo Fly Two Pies Recipe
- 2 x unbaked pie crusts ** crumb mix-
- 2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/3 c. lard
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg (opt)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (opt) syrup mix-
- 1 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 tsp baking soda ***
- And Folklore.
- ** Makes two pies*** Dissolved in warm water.
- Mix the crumb ingredients together thoroughly in a bowl till crumbs form.
- In a separate bowl, mix syrup ingredients thoroughly.
- Pour half of the syrup mix into unbaked pie crust.
- Then add in half of the crumb mix; repeat with the other pie plate.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 10 min.
- Then reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking for 50 min more.
- Cold.
- Makes two pies.
