Christmas Tree Spice Cookies
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 lg. egg
- 1/2 cup honey
- 4 cups flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. groung ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until very light in color.
- Add the egg and honey and continue beating til mixture is light and fluffy.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, ginger, and cinnamon together and stir into the butter-sugar mixture.
- Wrap the dough in wax or foil and freeze in the freezer for 1/2 an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375F.
- Roll out the chilled dough until it is about 1/4-inch thick and cut it with a christmas tree shaped cookie cutter, or if you want them circular, use a glass.
- Place the cookies onto a lightly greased baking sheet and bake for about 12 minutes, or until they are golden.
