Oatmeal Mini Pieces Cookies
- 23 cup butter flavor shortening (I used Crisco)
- 12 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 13 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons half-and-half (I used half and half) or 2 tablespoons milk (I used half and half)
- 1 12 cups quick oats (not instant)
- 1 cup Reese's mini pieces, can use more (recipe calls for 1/3 cup more)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Beat shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar in large bowl until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to creamed mixture, stirring after each addition.
- I stirred by hand.
- Stir in oats and candy pieces.
- Drop by tablespoons (I used tablespoon measuring spoon) onto cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Mine baked in 9 1/2 minutes.
- We like a chewy cookie so I take mine out just when the edges are browned.
- Leave on cookie sheet 2 minutes.
- Remove to wire rack.
- Cool completely.
