Hungarian Goulash

  1. In a pot over medium heat, saute diced onions until caramelized then add garlic and cook for a minute longer.
  2. Then add tomato paste, marjoram, ground caraway and paprika and cook for 2 minutes longer.
  3. Add beef and enough water to cover the mixture.
  4. Add bay leaf, salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Bring to a boil then reduce heat a bit and simmer for 1 hour.
