Libbie's 60 Minute Buns

  1. Mix yeast with 1/4 cup warm water and 3 teaspoons sugar.
  2. Add to the 6 cups flour.
  3. Add the lard or butter, 1/4 cup sugar, and salt to the warm milk.
  4. ( i warmed butter and milk and salt in microwave).
  5. and i added it to yeast then made sponge with 2 cups flour and then added rest of flour
  6. Add this to the flour mixture.
  7. Knead dough 5 minutes; let stand 15 minutes in a warm place.
  8. covered with damp cloth.
  9. Shape into buns; let stand 5 more minutes in a warm place.
  10. i made 20 lime sized rolls and put in oiled 9x13 sized pan covered with damp cloth
  11. Bake at 425 for 20 minutes or until browned and done.
  12. ( my ovens wonky ).
