Ukranian Prune Or Nut Potica Roll Recipe

  1. Dissolve yeast in liquid, set aside.
  2. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Cut in butter till mix resembles coarse cornmeal.
  4. Make a well in dough, add in unbeaten egg yolks and yeast mix and mix well till dough leaves bowl clean.
  5. Divide dough into 4 portions.
  6. Place one portion at a time on a floured cloth, roll out to a 12 x 16 inch rectangle.
  7. Spread with filling and roll as for jelly roll.
  8. Place dough on a greased cookie sheet.
  9. Brush with beaten egg.
  10. Let rest 20 min.
  11. Bake 20 to 25 min in a 350 degree oven till golden.
  12. Makes 4 rolls; 40 slices or possibly more.
