Easy! Open Apple Pie Bites

  1. Thaw the frozen pie crust at room temperature.
  2. Preheat the oven to 210C.
  3. Cut the small apple into 8 wedges.
  4. Cut 3 of the wedges into small pieces about 5 mm on each side.
  5. Cut the remaining wedges into pieces about 2 cm on each side.
  6. The sizes of these cuts are only guidelines, so slice your apples up however you'd like.
  7. Place the ingredients into a pot and turn the heat to low.
  8. The apples will release their juices, so cook them only with that.
  9. Cook on low heat until the liquid evaporates.
  10. Divide the pie sheet into 8 pieces.
  11. Spread the edges of the crust with egg yolk.
  12. You can also optionally sprinkle granulated sugar onto the areas with egg yolk.
  13. Place the apples on the pie crusts for the filling.
  14. Make sure you balance the amount of large and finely cut pieces.
  15. Bake for 8-9 minutes at 210C and then lower the temperature to 180C and bake for another 8-9 minutes.
  16. You could also bake at 200C for 15 minutes.
  17. The edges are flaky.
  18. These pie bites look cute too!
  19. Some people make this with the apple peels on, so I tried it too!
  20. The faint pink color of the peel looks cute.
  21. Step 4: If the pie crust doesn't come with holes, poke some holes into the crust with a fork.
