Soothing Juniper and Mulled Pears

  1. Peel, core, and quarter the pears.
  2. In a saucepan, mix the red wine, brown sugar, pineapple juice, and juniper berries.
  3. Let the mixture simmer for 3 minutes, then add the pears.
  4. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes, stirring and basting occasionally.
  5. Serve in Small bowls or red wine glasses.
