Devil's Food Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350F Grease and flour 2 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Sift flour, pudding mix, baking soda, and salt in small bowl.
  4. In double broiler melt chocolate.
  5. Stir in I/2 cup milk and brown sugar until mixture is smooth.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in egg yolk.
  7. Set aside to let cool.
  8. In large bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  9. Beat in eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
  10. Beat in sour cream.
  11. Combine vanilla and milk.
  12. Add to creamed mixture alternately with flour mixture beating until just combined.
  13. Pour into prepared pand and bake 25-30 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched.
  14. Cool in pans 10 minutes then transfer onto wire racks to cool completely.
