Asian Zing Meatloaf
- 2 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork or ground sausage
- 2/3 cup toasted breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup baby carrots; minced
- 2/3 cup celery; minced
- 1 1/3 cup onion; minced
- 1 bell pepper; small dice
- 2 jalapenos; minced
- 6 clove garlic; minced
- 1 tbsp ginger; peeled and finely minced
- 3 tbsp paprika
- 2 tbsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp lemon peel seasoning
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 salt and white pepper
- Saute veggies in a large saute pan with both oils.
- Add a pinch of salt.
- Add garlic when veggies are almost tender.
- Saute until garlic is fragrant.
- Cool down veggies.
- Combine meat, cooled off veggies, and remaining ingredients.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Roast at 300 for approximately one hour or until thermometer reaches 155
- Variations; Bacon, mustard, wasabi, horseradish, lemongrass, cilantro, parsley, scallions
- Try glazing with Hoisin or other sauces approximately 5 minutes before meatloaf is done.
