Barbecued Beef for Sandwiches

  1. Place roast in a large covered pan.
  2. Roast at 325F (165C) for 2 hours, or until the meat falls apart and shred easily.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  4. Add onions, and saute until onions become translucent.
  5. Stir in vinegar and chile sauce.
  6. Fill empty chile sauce bottle with water, shake and pour liquid in skillet.
  7. Mix in brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, and garlic.
  8. Cook sauce over low heat, stirring often, until thickened.
  9. With two forks, shred roasted beef.
  10. Stir meat into the sauce in the skillet and simmer for 30 minutes.
  11. Serve as sandwiches over lightly buttered and broiled hamburger buns.
