Swedish Brown Beans
- 2 cups Swedish brown beans
- 2 tablespoons Swedish vinegar ("attika"), or 4 tablespoons regular vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Lyle's Golden syrup
- Salt, to taste
- Soak beans overnight in salted beans in salted water (about a tablespoon of slat per liter of water).
- Drain and cover with new water in a pot.
- Bring to a boil and simmer until soft, about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
- Add vinegar and syrup, incorporate and serve.
