Pan-Fried Tofu With Sesame Ginger Miso
- 1 block Tofu (firm or silken)
- 1 Katakuriko
- 1 1/2 tbsp Miso
- 2 tbsp Sake
- 2 tbsp Mirin
- 1 piece worth Grated ginger
- 1 tbsp White ground sesame seeds
- 1 Green onions or shiso leaves
- 1 White toasted sesame seeds
- 1 1/2 tbsp Oil
- Mix together the ingredients marked with - miso, sake, mirin, grated ginger and ground sesame seeds.
- Drain the excess water from the tofu.
- (The method described by Becchin-san inis very convenient.)
- Cut the tofu into easy to eat pieces, and coat each piece with katakuriko.
- Shake off any excess.
- Heat some oil in a frying pan, and cook the tofu from Step 2 on both sides over medium heat.
- When both sides are browned, lower the heat.
- Pour in the combined flavoring ingredients from step 1 onto Step 3's tofu, and shake the frying pan to mix.
- Turn the tofu pieces to coat both sides with the sauce.
- Add some chopped green onion or shiso leaves and sesame seeds on top and it's done.
