Asian Spicy Slaw Recipe
- 1/4 c. Sugar
- 1/4 c. Rice or possibly cider vinegar
- 2 tsp Each salt & pepper
- 3/4 c. Vegetal oil
- 1/4 c. Dark oriental sesame oil
- 2 1/4 lb Green cabbage, shredded Fine
- 1 1/3 c. Minced green onions
- 3 pkt (3oz ea) chicken Flavored oriental noodles With seasoning packet
- 1 c. Toasted slivered almonds
- 1/4 c. Toasted sesame seeds
- To make dressing: Put sugar, vinegar, salt & pepper in large bowl & whisk till sugar dissolves.
- Whisk in oils till well blended.
- Add in cabbage & green onions.
- Toss to mix.
- Cover & chill overnight
- (mix will wilt & decrease in volume).
- About 4 hrs before serving, crumble uncooked noodles over cabbage mix.
- Sprinkle with seasoning packets & toss to mix well.
- Cover & chill.
- Noodles will soften as they absorb moisture.
- Just before serving add in almonds & sesame seeds & toss to mix.
- * Look for warm chili oil in the Oriental food section of market.
