Mexican Chili Con Carne Recipe
- 2 lbs. cubed round steak
- 2 tbsp. salad oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, mashed
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 1 c. water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1-2 teaspoon chili pwdr
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- Dash cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 2 (15 ounce.) cans kidney beans or possibly Mexican style chili beans
- In Dutch oven brown meat in warm oil.
- Add in all ingredients except beans.
- Cover, bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
- Stir occasionally.
- Add in more liquid as needed.
- Skim off fat; add in beans and simmer 30 min more.
- Makes 6 servings.
