Healthy Oatmeal
- 2 cup water
- 1/2 cup rolled oats (or old fashioned oats)
- 2 tbsp flax seed
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/4 cup raisins, dried cranberries, craisins, dried currants, or other dried fruit of choice such as cherries, blueberries, etc.
- 4 dried apricots
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp maple syrup (not extract) (optional)
- In a small saucepan, combine water, oats, seeds, fruit and cinnamon.
- Stir to combine.
- Cook, covered, over very low heat for 20 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and let stand for 20 minutes.
- Stir in the maple syrup, if using.
