Upside Down Ham Loaf

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a bowl combine the ham, bread crumbs, onion, celery.
  2. basil, skim milk, eggs, and mustard.
  3. (If ground ham is unavailable, use a food processor to grate and chop 1 pound of cooked ham.)
  4. Mix well by hand until completely blended.
  5. Set aside.
  6. Grease an 8 loaf pan and layer the sliced apples over the bottom of the pan.
  7. Next cover the apples with the maple syrup.
  8. Pack the ham mixture over the apples and into the loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven and turn out upside down in a serving dish.
  11. Serve immediately.
