Sausage & Cheese Mock Souffle Recipe
- 5-7 slices sour dough bread, cubed
- 3 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 pound cooked & liquid removed Jimmy Dean sausage
- 4 Large eggs
- 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 tbsp. dry chopped onion, optional
- 1 c. half & half
- 1 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- Place bread in 9 x 13 inch greased pan.
- Cover with 2 1/2 c. cheese and sausage (onions added here if used).
- Beat Large eggs, half & half, 1 1/4 c. lowfat milk and mustard together.
- Pour over bread and chill overnight.
- Next day: Mix soup and lowfat milk.
- Pour over bread mix.
- Top with remaining cheese.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
- Let rest 15 min before serving.
