Texas Chili Croutons
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/8 tsp cayenne
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 slice hearty white sandwich bread, cut into 1/2 inch cubes (about 4 cups)
- Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat oven to 350F.
- Whisk oil, garlic, salt, pepper, cayenne and chili powder together in a large bowl.
- Add bread cubes and toss until coated.
- Spread bread on baking sheet and bake until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes.
- Cool before serving.
- *Makes about 4 cups*
