Shrimp
- 2 lbs fresh shrimp, peeled and de-veined
- 1 chinese turnip, grated
- 12 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 12 teaspoons sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 12 cup flour
- 12 cup cornstarch
- 12 cup water
- 14 teaspoon salt
- Mix eggs, flour, cornstarch, 1/2 cup water, and salt.
- Boil soy sauce, 1 cup water, and sugar for 5 minutes.
- Dip shrimp into batter and fry in deep fat until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Add grated turnip to sauce.
- Serve tempura on bed of lettuce leaves.
- Place sauce in small bowls for dipping.
