Mapo Tofu with Onions
- 1 block (350 grams) Firm tofu
- 200 grams Ground pork
- 1 small Onion
- 2 tbsp each Red miso, mirin, sake, sesame oil
- 1 tbsp each Sugar, soy sauce
- 1 tsp Doubanjiang
- 1 dash Grated ginger
- 1/2 tbsp Katakuriko to thicken the sauce
- Finely chop the onion, and stir-fry it well in a frying pan.
- Add the ground pork and stir-fry.
- To make the miso sauce: Dissolve the miso in mirin, then add the other ingredients marked with to make the sauce.
- Add the cubed tofu and miso sauce to the frying pan and bring to a boil.
- Add the katakuriko dissolved in water to thicken the sauce.
- There's not much water in the sauce, so add a little to adjust the consistency.
