Bread Pudding U.S. Senate Dining Room Recipe
- 3 Large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 c. white sugar
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 stick butter, melted
- 3 c. heavy cream
- Dash of yellow food coloring, optional
- 4 c. cubed day-old white bread
- 3/4 c. raisins
- Combine Large eggs, sugars, vanilla, and nutmeg.
- Add in melted butter, then cream, then coloring; mix well.
- Stir in cubed bread and raisins and let stand 10-15 min.
- Pour into well-greased deep pan or possibly casserole.
- Bake at 375 degrees 45 to 60 min till golden.
- Serve hot topped with vanilla sauce.
- Serves 6-8 people.
