Easy Bitter Matcha Gateau au Chocolat

  1. Finely break the chocolate and combine with the milk.
  2. Microwave for a minute to melt and mix.
  3. Combine the softened butter and sugar.
  4. Add the mixture from Step 1 and heavy cream.
  5. Mix thoroughly.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients and sift into the bowl of ingredients from Step 2.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Also add the finely minced walnuts.
  9. Grease a cake pan with butter and pour in the mixture.
  10. Tap the bottom on a flat surface to remove air bubbles.
  11. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes in a 170C oven.
  12. Let it cool without removing from the pan.
  13. Sprinkle a generous amount of matcha on top.
  14. Top with softly whipped matcha cream.
