Pepper Nut Cookies

  1. Sift dry ingredients.
  2. Heat the honey, but do not boil.
  3. Add shortening: cool.
  4. Beat in the egg.
  5. Stir in dry ingredients just until blended.
  6. Let dough stand 10 minutes to stiffen enough to handle.
  7. Shape into 1/2" balls.
  8. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.), 12 to 13 minutes.
  10. Cool cookies.
  11. Frost with Powdered Sugar Frosting
  12. Store in airtight container to ripen.
