Crockpot Pork and Kraut
- 3 1/2 lbs. Country Style Pork Ribs (excess fat removed)
- 1 large Onion, cut in rings
- 1 15 oz. can Sliced White Potatoes, drained
- 1 15 oz. can Saurkraut, undrained
- 1 tsp. Celery Seed
- 1 cup Chicken broth
- 1/3 cup Brown Sugar
- Sprinkle meat with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Brown on high heat in large frying pan, a few at a time.
- Meanwhile start layering crockpot with rest of ingredients except sugar.
- Onion, potatoes, kraut, celery seed, then broth over all.
- Place meat in one layer over mixture.
- Add brown sugar over meat.
- Add 1 or 2 coarse chop fresh apples on top (optional).
- Cook on High heat for 5 hrs.
- When done remove 1 cup liquid with turkey baster, discard.
- Remove meat only to serving plate.
- Serve rest of mixture from crockpot with slotted spoon.
- DO NOT STIR.
