Marty Family Bread and Sausage Stuffing
- 1 loaf day-old white bread, torn into pieces
- 1 lb bulk pork sausage (we use Jimmy Dean Regular)
- 1 medium white onion, finely chopped
- 1 -2 stalk celery, finely chopped
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- poultry seasoning, to taste
- Combine all ingredients and mix well (I use my hands).
- Stuff both turkey openings (neck and rear end) of your turkey with stuffing and cover the stuffed openings with turkey skin (we use skewers to hold the skin in place).
- Don't be afraid to really press the stuffing in to make it all fit.
- Bake turkey according to its package directions.
- When turkey is done, remove stuffing to a separate bowl.
- Refrigerate leftovers.
