Taco Macaroni

  1. (The cheese quantity is approximate.
  2. Use as little or as much as your family prefers.)
  3. Bring a pot of water to boil and prepare pasta according to package instructions.
  4. While pasta is cooking, brown the meat and onion together in a large skillet or dutch oven.
  5. (If using sirloin, you will not need to drain.
  6. Otherwise, drain the grease.)
  7. Cut the Velveeta into small cubes while meat is browning and pasta is cooking.
  8. Once pasta and meat are done, drain pasta and meat.
  9. Return meat to skillet or dutch oven.
  10. Add pasta and everything else.
  11. Heat over low heat to melt cheese.
  12. Stir often to mix everything well.
  13. Once cheese is melted, voila!
  14. Youre done.
  15. When I first started making dinner, I had no idea what I would be making.
  16. I was thinking spaghetti, but wanted cheese.
  17. Then, when my son opened the pantry door and I saw the taco seasoning, I knew what I was going to attempt.
  18. Gotta love ground beef because you can throw it frozen in the pan and it is just fine.
  19. Cant do that with most meats.
  20. (Must confess that I do not like ground beef of any kind.
  21. I have to disguise it before I can eat it.
  22. I even put ketchup on my burgers, unless I make them at home and then I can add the disguise of chili sauce and onion soup mix before I cook them.)
  23. It was great to have no clue and come out with something the kids loved and I enjoyed in under 30 minutes.
