Indian Sauteed Cauliflower (Aloo Gobi)

  1. Chop cauliflower into small 1 cm bits, and mince onion, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, and saute garlic and ginger.
  3. Once they turn aromatic and a nice golden brown, add the onion and saute until it caramelizes.
  4. Add cauliflower and lightly stir.
  5. Add turmeric, cumin powder, cayenne pepper, a scant 1/2 teaspoon salt, and stir.
  6. It should look like this.
  7. Cover with a lid, and steam for 10 minutes, or until the vegetables become tender.
  8. Stir from time to time to prevent burning.
  9. Adjust salt to taste.
  10. Serve with curry or rice.
