Rum And Raisin Sauce For Holidays Recipe
- 1 1/2 c. rum
- 1/2 c. seedless raisins
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp. fresh grated lemon peel
- 1 tbsp. fresh grated orange peel
- 1/2 c. pecan pcs
- Pour rum over raisins and let set till raisins are puffed, several hrs.
- Mix sugar, water, cinnamon and boil 2 min.
- Add in raisins and rum.
- Cook 5 min.
- Add in vanilla.
- Remove from heat; add in lemon and orange peels and nuts.
- Serve hot over lb.
- cake or possibly ice cream.
