Ribbon Cookies
- 5 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 2 oz. sweet chocolate
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 2 c. butter
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. chopped candied cherries
- few drops red food coloring
- Sift flour and measure.
- Add salt and baking powder.
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla.
- Add flour, a little at a time.
- Divide into 3 parts.
- Add cherries and food coloring to 1, melted chocolate and nuts to the second and leave the third plain. Line a bread pan with wax paper.
- Pack chocolate dough on bottom, plain in the center and cherry dough on top.
- Cover and put in refrigerator overnight.
- Turn out of pan.
- Cut into 3 strips and slice thin.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
