Green Beans ItalianoParmesan is Always Good On Beans
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, cored, seeded, and diced
- 1 clove garlic, peeled
- Two 9-ounce packages frozen cut green beans, thawed, or two 14 1/2-ounce cans cut green beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Preheat a large skillet over high heat.
- Add the oil, then the onion and bell pepper.
- Press in the garlic.
- Stirring occasionally, cook until the onion is lightly browned, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in the beans and basil.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer to a 1-quart ovenproof casserole dish and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake until the cheese has browned, about 10 minutes.
