Old-Fashioned Mincemeat Sauce

  1. Combine first 7 ingredients in heavy medium saucepan.
  2. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Bring to boil.
  4. Reduce heat; simmer until sauce thickens slightly and is reduced to 1 1/2 cups, stirring occasionally, about 4 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in cream.
  7. (Can be made 2 days ahead.
  8. Cover and chill.
  9. Rewarm over low heat before serving.)
