Teriyaki chicken
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 lb chicken breasts
- dash pepper
- 1/2 cup sake
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 3 tsp corn starch
- 1 tbsp water
- Preheat oil in large saute pan over medium high heat.
- Cut chicken into small pieces and season with pepper.
- Cook in hot pan until golden on all sides.
- Whisk together sake, mirin, soy sauce, brown sugar, and ginger.
- Add sauce to pan, bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer.
- Mix together corn starch and water until smooth.
- Add to pan and simmer until thickened and chicken is cooked through.
