Gino's Granola

  1. Mix dry ingredients oats, bran, sunflower seeds, and all nuts.
  2. Simmer oil, syrup, and honey (to thin).
  3. Remove from heat and add vanilla.
  4. Pour over oats, bran, sunflower seeds, and nuts.
  5. Mix well and spread on cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for 19-21 min at 325F, stirring twice (Every 7 minutes stir to make sure the granola on the bottom of the pan doesnt get crisp or cooked longer than the rest).
  7. Take out of oven and mix in desired other ingredients (dried apples, raisins, etc).
  8. I also make sure to take it OFF the cookie sheets as soon as I take it out of the oven so it doesnt get too crispy.
  9. Cool and store in airtight container.
  10. Approximate cost per batch is $6.50.
  11. While I only list the dates as optional, in many ways, almost all of the ingredients are optional.
  12. Mix different nuts (or quantities) to your taste.
  13. You can also just use one type of raisin if you like.
  14. Chop nuts and cut dried apples to the size you like experiment with this recipe Ive learned that you can vary it each time for a little different taste as well.
