Baron Of Barbecue Kansas City Classic Sauce Recipe
- 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp grnd red pepper
- 1 Tbsp. black pepper (1-2)
- 1/4 tsp mace
- 1 ounce envelope chili seasoning
- 1 c. vinegar
- 2 tsp dry mustard
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 tsp grnd ginger
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 32 ounce ketchup
- In saucepan, combine brown sugar, freshly grnd black pepper, chili seasoning, dry mustard, ginger, allspice, red pepper and mace; mix well.
- Add in vinegar, molasses and water, stirring till blended.
- Stir in ketchup.
- Bring to boil, stirring constantly; reduce heat.
- Simmer, covered, over low heat for 30 min, stirring occasionally.
- Use as finishing and table sauce for beef, pork and chicken or possibly add in to your favorite meat loaf recipe.
- May store sauce in refrigerator for several weeks.
- (May add in 1-3 tsp.
- liquid smoke.)
