Black-Eyed Peas with Cumin Recipe

  1. Boil peas in water with salt, sugar and turmeric for about 30 minutes.
  2. May need to add additional water during cooking.
  3. In separate pan, fry garlic, chili, chopped tomato and cumin in oil for just a minute or two.
  4. Don't burn the cumin.
  5. Add the garlic and chili fry to your boiling peas, stir and boil for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  6. Top with cilantro and serve over rice
