Raspberry Chocolate Trifle

  1. make cake according to pkg.
  2. directions.
  3. bake in 2 round pans.
  4. slice cooled cakes into 4 layers.
  5. poke holes in the cakes.
  6. make raspberry sauce.
  7. mix mousse according to pkg.
  8. directions.
  9. layer cake, raspberry preserves, raspberry sauce and mousse.
  10. This can be made ahead, but the raspberry preserves soak in after a few hours.
  11. My son and I like it that way, but some people think it's too soggy.
  12. Cook time is for baking the cakes.
