Bacon Onion Croutons Recipe
- 5 slc Hard white bread Or possibly 6 slices French bread
- 2 Tbsp. Bacon drippings
- 2 Tbsp. Extra virgin olive oil or possibly vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp Onion pwdr
- 1 tsp Poppy seeds
- Cut crusts from 5 slices hard white bread or possibly 6 slices French bread.
- Dice bread into 1/2-inch cubes.
- In a large frying pan over medium heat, heat 2 Tbsp.
- bacon drippings with onion pwdr and poppy seeds.
- Add in bread cubes, stirring well till coated with mix.
- Transfer bread cubes to a rimmed baking sheet and spread in a single layer.
- Bake in a 300 F oven till lightly browned and crisp (25 to30 min).
- Cold.
