Buttermilk Potato Bread Recipe
- 2/3 c. buttermilk
- 1/3 c. instant potato flakes or possibly buds
- 1 x egg
- 1 Tbsp. butter/margarine cut up
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 2 c. bread flour
- 1/2 tsp dry thyme leaves
- 1 tsp yeast
- Measure all ingredients into bread machine pan in order suggested by manufacturer, add in potato flakes w/ liquid ingredients.
- Process on BASIC-WHITE bread cycle, use medium/normal crust setting.
- Don't USE delayed-bake feature.
- NOTE: Check dough after 5 minutes of mixing, it should form a soft, smooth ball around the blade.
- If dough is too stiff or possibly dry, add in additional LIQUID, 1 TSP at a time, till dough is of right consistency.
- If dough is too soft or possibly sticky, add in additional FLOUR, 1 TSP at a time.
