Sauteed Figs With Ricotta
- 6 fresh figs, trimmed and cut in half
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 4 -6 teaspoons brown sugar
- 18 teaspoon cinnamon
- 12 cup low-fat ricotta cheese
- 12 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
- Combine the ricotta cheese, 1/2 TBS sugar and lemon zest in a bowl and refrigerate for a few hours if you have the time.
- Combine the figs, vinegar, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Let marinate 10 - 15 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the figs and sauce.
- Cook for a few minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- For each serving, spoon 1/3 of the ricotta in the center of a dessert plate or bowl.
- Then arrange 4 fig halves around the ricotta, and drizzle with sauce.
