Daigaku-Imo Style Sweet Potato Kinpira

  1. Slice the sweet potato about 1 mm thick.
  2. Put in a bowl of water to soak for a while.
  3. Make the other things to put in a bento box (or for dinner) in the meantime.
  4. Drain the sweet potatoes and pat dry.
  5. Heat some sesame oil in a frying pan and stir fry the potato slices.
  6. Add the combined "A" ingredients and continue stir-frying.
  7. When there's no moisture left in the pan, mix in the honey and sesame seeds to finish.
  8. Just add a little bit of honey.
  9. If you don't have any honey you can add mizu-ame (sweet starch syrup), or nothing at all.
  10. Floury, dense and delcious!
  11. Great in bentos.
  12. You can make this in advance, so reserve some you make for dinner for bentos the next day.
